A traditional research focus of our chair is the analysis and further development of model-driven development processes. The basis of our research is the specification of a model landscape for the formal description of structural dependencies in the environment of automation technology. At our chair, we used theoretical examinations to develop a concept by means of which models themselves are modelled as active components. On such a mentally active platform, models can offer services to other models. Another research focus is the support of language tools which shall ensure a simple and consistent exchange of model information.
