The BaSys follow-up project with 13 partners from economy and research continues developing an Industrie-4.0 toolbox with the goal to enable practical engineering use cases. The focus lies hereby on the open source Industrie-4.0-Middleware Eclipse BaSyx. The project, led by the Fraunhofer IESE from Kaiserslautern, builds on the successful work done and results accomplished in the prior projects BaSys4.0 and BaSys4.2. While the middleware is already successfully used by early adopters, this third project aims to enable widespread adaptation. The German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) supports the new project with 6.7 million Euro during three years.
While prior projects resulted in a working Industrie-4.0-toolbox, the focus of this project is the integration of the BaSyx-Middleware in existing industrial applications, as well as the for the operationally indispensable topics of compliance and security.
