BaSys 4.0

  Partner of the BaSys4.0 Project.

On 1 July 2016, the joint project “Basissystem Industrie 4.0“ (BaSys4.0) has started, in which the Chair of Process Control Engineering, representative for the RWTH Aachen University, together with 14 industrial and research partners is involved.

This project, being supported by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, aims to develop a kind of open source operating system for the realization of Industrie 4.0 in the industrial practice. For this purpose, a digital process image and a generic description of all services which have been provided by the process and which are relevant for the handling of the basic system (“Basissystem“) are essential. In this way, it will be possible to implement the vision of the flexible and convertible production to the economic production of the lot size of one.

The chair of Process Control Engineering supports this project in particular through a consolidation of the meta model area and through the use of model transformations within the framework of operational process control. Moreover, the chair contributes to the standardisation of the project results.

Further information and current announcements are available on the website of the project: http://www.basys40.de/ .
