ACPLT Technologies
![]() |
The generic term «ACPLT® Technologies» is the technological umbrella of the Chair of Process Control Engineering, RWTH Aachen, Germany, for its (reference) models and their technical realizations. The reference models provide a framework for modulizing and distributing functionality of typical problems in process control engineering. At the same time the reference models strive for far-reaching standardization.
Users, manufacturers, and research gain several advantages from ACPLT technologies, such as independence from individual vendors, proprietary systems, and special projects.
The «AC» in the «ACPLT» trademark comes from the name of the town Aachen where the research chair is located – and is seen on many number plates of the cars driving in and around Aachen. The second part «PLT» stems from the German term for process control technique, Prozessleittechnik.
